The prevalence of diabetes in recent decades has been a pandemic that has spread to almost all countries, and Uzbekistan is no exception. The study of the laws of the epidemiological process of diabetes mellitus, the solution of problems associated with the increase in the prevalence of this disease are the main areas of research that are now a priority. Data from statistical reports have shown that the prevalence of diabetes varies widely, taking into account its types, and is largely determined by belonging to certain ethnic and age groups. As of 2020, 230,610 patients with diabetes were registered at the dispensary. Today, there are more than 150 million people in the world with diabetes, ranging from 2% to 5% of the population in Western countries and 10-15% in developing countries.
