Анотація

Остеопороз – системне захворювання кісток, яке характеризується погіршенням мікроархітектоніки кісток та зниженням кісткової маси, що призводить до ризику переломів [9]. Переломи, пов'язані з остеопорозом, є серйозною проблемою охорони здоров'я в усьому світі. Остеопороз є основним чинником ризику переломів. Остеопоротичні переломи пов'язані з обмеженням пересування, фізичною деформацією, хронічним болем та інвалідністю, втратою якості життя. Відомо, що понад 40 млн громадян США старше 50 років схильні до ризику остеопоротичних переломів, і що ця кількість подвоїться як мінімум до 2040 р. Є прогнози, що 25 % людей віком від 50 років, які перенесли остеопорозний перелом шийки стегна, можуть померти протягом року [4]. Перелом шийки стегна є особливо руйнівним та становлить до 5 % смертності від усіх причин, при цьому 21–30 % помирають протягом року [30]. Всі перераховані статистичні і клінічні дані свідчать про важливість кісткової тканини для життя та здоров’я людини.
